On Tuesday, 5 March, students between 3rd and 6th Primary visited Taberna-Berlys, located in Mutilva. When they arrived, a charming tour guide called Montse greeted them and invited them to discover the exciting world of bread. With the help of a short video, two characters with an important mission were introduced. Their names were Artie and Gis, whose task was to prevent the evil villain, Cornelius, from destroying the existence of bread forever.

To stop Cornelius in his tracks, the children were divided into teams to solve different enigmas and uncover clues. First, they learned about the history of bread, then they had to figure out the formula to elaborate the perfect dough, and they had to classify foods in their correct place on the food pyramid. Little by little, between cracking codes and opening chests, they defeated the villain, thus becoming guardians of Taberna's bread.

Once the mission was complete, our adventurers were rewarded with exquisite and delicious Nutella rolls. This sweet moment was used to renew strength. Afterwards, after having put on their aprons and adjusted their caps, they dug into kneading the dough and making their very own loaf of bread.

Once the task was finished, it was time to say goodbye and head back to school. However, they did this with their hands full. Taberna gifted them two loaves of bread, a packet of sliced bread, a cap, and an apron.

As a token of gratitude, the children said goodbye to Montse—the amiable hostess—by singing a song of blessing. The outing was not only exciting but also finished with a sweet touch to it.
